This half term as the field was dry and there were plenty of helpers on hand we went to get a top up of hay that will hopefully see us through to the spring.

Kezzia and Sophie are unloading the last few bales. There were forty bales in total on this load but we can fit seventy on the trailer!!

The bales had to be taken by wheelbarrow to the barn as because of the mud we were unable to drive the trailer right up to the barn door. This makes the job much more difficult.

All finished... can we have a ride?

Sorry there have been no posts recently but having moved house it took BT till Friday (nearly a month) to transfer the line from the old house to the new one. Today was a boiling hot day and as it has been hot for several days it was time for the hay harvest. Luckily we had some willing (and some not so willing volunteers) some of whom were the riders dads and some were the riders themselves. This made the job a lot easier as the work was shared round... manhandling a few hundred bales of hay is not an easy one man job! Many thanks to all those who helped out. Special thanks goes to Dennis for his continuing support collecting the hay and particularly for the use of his trailer to collect it.
