the horses mean loads to me, i am nearly 14 and in yr 9 at school, i find it really stressful and tiring, so it is really nice to go down and see the horses after school! the horses teach you loads, you learn so much when your around them and its not just how to ride. they make you smile, and i cant imagine them not being there! i love them to bits!!

Hi
Im 14 and in year 9 at school. I'm under a lot of pressure from my parents and the school, so riding is a huge release. I love all of the horses to bits, and i can't imagine a life without them. I've made lots of grate friends down the field, both horses and people!!!
Five top reasons to luv horses/ponies:
1. They're cute
2. They're grate listeners
3.They are very playfull and cheeky
4.They are affectionate animals
5.They all have their own personalities - like people no two are alike!!!

I luv all of the horses sooooooooooooooo much.
<hugs nd kisses>

the horses mean a lot for me, they give me strength and confidence, they make a grey day colourful and their warm body helps in every difficult situation.

The horses are sunshine on a rainy day; the perfect pick-me-up when you are feeling down; the most effective medicine when you are feeling unwell - they brighten the day and make me feel happy even when I don't feel 100%.

The girls and boys are brilliant - as an adult volunteer I have felt welcomed and included from the very start.

At work I have photos of Merlin (sticking his tongue out) and Toby (pulling a funny face) on my desk so that I can have a little of their magic whilst at work.

The horses are all characters but so wonderful and great to be with. No two days are alike and that is part of what makes it great.

I started riding at Summerfield many many years ago (er, 20 years ago!) and it helped me hugely, as well as making friends whom to this day I still see on a regular basis.

Personally, it developed my confidence with interacting with both other people of my own age and also adults which developed my comminication skills. Also, it was fantastic to go and spend a morning (or a day!) with the horses in my local area without it costing the earth. The major thing that riding taught me was responsibility to myself, other people and the horses. Whilst riding and being around the horses, it got me away from the strains and stresses of my life for a morning and enabled me to be free. The time that I spent riding at Summerfield taught me so many valuable skills which I have been able to carry forward into my adult life.

From leaving Summerfield, I went on to start training to do my British Horse Society exams and it equipped me with the skills needed to eventually get my own horse. Even when I had my own horse, I was still able to get support with how to do things and how to overcome problems from with him from Roz.

During later life, I have since trained to be an Equine Body Worker which enables me to go and massage horses and also, I have trained in Reiki, again, although this can be used for humans and animals, I have specialised in animals (particularly horses). I also try and teach and pass on my extensive knowledge on various horse subjects as much as possible and also, as part of my own C.P.D (continued professional development) I receive regular tuition and attend various equine courses to keep abreast with lastes techniques and developments.

If it had not of been for Summerfield Stables, I don't think I would of been as successful and as confident as I am now and I certainly would not of been able to ride as a youngster as my parents did not drive so I could not access any stables.

Thank you Summerfield Stables.
