Summerfield Stables - Horses in the community

Rider only insurance

By the beginning of September it will be compulsory for anyone riding any of our horses, even on a voluntary basis to help exercise them, to be insured. Any one hoping to join in activities at the stables now has to get their own insurance before joining. The policies some of our riders have taken out include

Pet Plan (May be the cheapest but please check this)
E and L (Easy to take out a policy over the internet)
Bhs Gold Membership(supports a charity and you get a magazine every few months but it may not be the cheapest! )

To my knowledge none of these are more than £30 a year for juniors and so this works out at less than a pound a week. Please note that your insurance is often invalid unless you are wearing a hat and body protector so please read the conditions regarding this carefully!

Remember that riding is a risk sport and by choosing to ride it shows that you accept these risks. Every care is taken to try to reduce the risk of handling or riding horses at the stables but it is important to remember to be sensible at all times and that  you ride at your own risk.
