History.

Bertie came from the same hope as Bobby. He was originally given to his previous owner to settle a debt and was a much loved family pet but had no rider as he was outgrown. He is very quiet and can be trusted with children. Bertie was gradually retired from work due to his age but lived for many years in retirement at the stables. He coped well even with the loss of most of his teeth and diet of very mushy food. Sadly his arthritis meant that his mobility decreased to the point where he was unable to lie down at night and he was uncomfortable standing so he was eventually put down. His age was estimated to be in his early 40s
