Riding lessons

Although Summerfield Stables does offer riding lessons, much of our focus is on accompanying these lessons with pony care and helping young people to develop the skills needed to care for their own pony. Many of our riders also work towards exams with the British horse society- details of these are in our volunteering section.

There is often a waiting list for lessons- particularly on a weekend. There is more availability for lessons after school. Volunteering is available for those aged 12 and above who have attended pony care sessions and so have the relevant skills and also who have a suitable level of maturity to be able to complete tasks without close supervision.
