Rosa looking around
This is Rosa when she was first let out the day after she arrived. It was a wet day so she wasn't out for long but just enough to have a look around.
Rosa stretching her legs
Rosa wanted to show off in front of the rest of the horses so had a quick canter round.
Muddy Maisey
We often wondered how Maisey managed to get so muddy but then today we saw her roll right in the deep puddle by the gate. we fetched her in but it was too late... she was soaked through and very muddy!
Mo showing off
At Solihull the bigger horses are now in together having had a long time to get to know each other over the fence. Mo wanted to show off by cantering round with Apollo but twiggy was happy to graze.
Apollo cantering
Apollo likes to run round in his field as he is a very energetic horse!
Buster schooling
Often Buster seems to get left out of the pictures because he is on a different yard at the moment. I just thought I would add some of him so he didnt feel left out. Here Barbara is riding him.
Buster warming up
Here Buster is just starting out with Anne. He is a bit sleepy.
Buster doing pole work
Here Buster is doing some pole work with Tom. The poles are slightly raised on pole pods to help him pick his feet up.
Mucking Out
The worst job is always emptying barrows... they can get really heavy!
Mucking out
Mucking out is very time consuming in the winter. Its often a case of many hands make light work!
Quiet Saturday Morning
Due to the freezing cold weather and the large amount of illness about Saturday mornings have been very quiet recently. Unfortunately this meant that we cant take all the horses out so some had to be left behind- not that they minded as they were in their nice warm stables!

Both are settling in here as they have only been at the field for about half an hour.

Tara and Jasmine
Jasmine has been working hard trying to re-school Tara as she does have some slight problems with her brakes! Hopefully when these problems have been ironed out we will be able to use Tara more and start taking her to shows.

Cold Dogs
Mini and Sophie in Unregistered Mountain and Moorland
Mini was very well behaved and was easily the smallest there! He looked very cute and the judge said he moved well so he was placed 4th.
Super Ted and Lauren in the In Hand Veteren
Ted was very good in his class but was marked down as he had bite marks from playing with his friends.
Maisey and Kezzia in the in-hand registered mountain and moorland
Maisey did very well and didn't get too excited even though it was her first show. They came fifth out of twelve!
Jasmine and Ted before the ridden unregistered mountain and moorland
This is Jasmine and Ted just before the ridden unregistered mountain and moorland. Ted was a bit slow and it was Jasmines first time in a ridden showing class but they still did well as Ted was well behaved. They came fifth and both enjoyed themselves.
Freddie and Heidi in the in-hand registered mountain and moorland
Freddie was in the class for three year olds and under in the mountain and moorland class. As it started at 9.00 no one else turned up so Freddie won and got through to the championships. Unfortunately he was not placed in the championships but the judge had some good comments for him and he seemed unphased by the whole thing!
Ted and Billie in Unregistered Mountain and Moorland
This is Ted in the unregistered mountain and moorland. he did very well and was very calm. He came sixth out of eight others. As we don't normally take Ted to shows we were very pleased with him as he was very well behaved.
Indy and Nina At Solihull Riding Club

Indy Schooling
Snowy and Bess
Snowy and Bess. This was taken a week before Snowy was put down and he was doing what he liked to do best which was follow Bess around. Unfortunately despite making it through the winter well Snowy's laminitis had returned (possibly because of Cushings disease) and it would have been impossible to restrict his food intake as he would have been unable to maintain his weight without the numerous feeds and unrestricted grazing that he had enjoyed over the winter. he also had very poor teeth and melanomas through out his stomach which made going to the toilet difficult. As there was no cure for any of these problems and he was believed to be well over thirty the decision was made to have him put to sleep. he will be sadly missed as he taught so many people to ride and was a brilliant first pony.
Belle having a midday Nap
Belle always likes to sunbathe, even in the middle of winter
Snip having a mid day nap
Snip likes a sleep after breakfast and before lunch
Bess and Merlin
Snap!! Bess and Merlin are now good friends and share a field together. They are both black welsh cobs sf a similar height but you can tell them apart as Bess has a snip as well as a star and Merlin has two white socks.
Bobby and Kezzia out on a Hack
This is Bobby and Kezzia jumping a log in Mosley Bog. We take the opportunity to jump natural obstacles out on hacks wherever possible as it introduces the horses to the sort of jumps they will encounter on a cross county course.
