Saturday and Sunday Afternoons- Half hour lessons and Pony Care

On Saturday and Sunday Afternoons we offer half hour lessons on a Sunday afternoon. Half hour lessons (Bronze membership) will be available at 2.00 with the optional addition of an hour of horse care starting at 1.00

Group 1

Horse care-1.00 till 2.00
Riding lesson 2.00 till 2.30

Group 2

Horse care 1.00 till 1.30
Riding lesson 1.30 till 2.00
Horse care 2.00 till 2.30

If we are very busy we add third group

Riding lesson 1.00 till 1.30
Horse Care 1.30 till 2.30

During the horse care sessions we would aim to build confidence around horses which could include leading, brushing, grooming, mucking out, tacking up and filling haynets as well as some basic knowledge such as points of the horse and basic feeding rules.

The cost for the sessions will be £11 for just the half hour lesson (Bronze ride only package) and £17 (Silver junior package) for the combined horse care and ride- please see our membership options for more details on payment.

This session is suitable for beginners upwards and for those wanting to learn more about horse care.

These sessions should give riders the skills to be able to join in with Saturday and Sunday morning activities once they are competent with mucking out, making haynets, grooming, tacking up and handling ponies as well as other key skills. They would also need to be capable of riding off the leadrope in walk and trot and should be working towards canter in order to move on to a volunteer membership.A good step up could be the Gold junior Membership is for our members who are wishing to develop their confidence with an aim towards canter and jumping but still aiming to develop their horse care skills with an aim towards volunteering.

As these sessions are very popular we would be keen to offer after school sessions too.
