Today was our first of a series of tidy up days that we hope to hold at the stables. Friends and family were invited to lend a hand to make the field a tidier place. Everyone helped and it was a great day, everyone helped out even the smallest of the riders and we tackled jobs like clearing the weeds, fencing and burning rubbush. Afterwards we had a BBQ and a bonfire and some people were also very generous and helped out by bringing food. Many thanks to all who took part as it was so good to have so much help. Special thanks go to those who had to help with the straw too as it made the day very long and exhausting!

Today Nicola Hope from Warwickshire college came out to help enroll the people studying at the stables for their NVQs. All students recieved their paperwork and the adults had to fill in lots of forms! We hope to work together on our studies and are pleased to be given the opportunity to do this on our own yard rather than having to travel into college as for some of us this would be too difficult to fir in to our daily routine.
Just to wish everyone starting a new college or school this week the best of luck. Nina and Daniella are starting at Moreton Morrell tomorrow studying an equine course, Sophie B is starting at Rodbaston studying animal care and Tom is starting college studying for A-levels. We also wish the best of luck to those starting a new school including Sophie C who is starting at Light Hall.
Tonight we took the Coco Toby and Apollo to Solihull Riding club for the clear round showjumping at Solihull Riding Club. George and Apollo went first and jumped one clear round but knocked one pole off on the second round. Toby went next and jumped very well, especially as it was his first time jumping indoors! He stayed very calm and was not at all spooky although he did not jump clear this time. Coco was last and jumped ver well, he had one refusal on his first round but went more confidently on his second round and jumped clear. Well done all!
The photos can be found at www.gr8pictures.co.uk if you go to recent events and then click on 8th September clear round |
