The funding has arrived in our bank account for the 'This Brum Girl Can' project at Summerfield Stables. This is to encourage women and girls to start or get back into horse riding. To do this they can claim their voucher for half an hours free ride in a group lesson of up to four (so you can book with friends). If you know of anyone who would like to start or get back into horse riding (have not ridden in 6 months) then please ask them to message me so I can book them in for a session. The dates and times available are 15th 22nd 29th March Times :11-1 and 23, 24 and 27th march Times:2-4pm. Message us for more details. #thisgirlcan#thisbrumgirlcan

Maisey has just come back from her fattening holiday as a companion pony so she has put on lots of weight which she finds difficult to do when being stabled in the winter due to her crib-biting. We will be lunging and long reigning her to get her back into shape and she will be joining in on a Saturday morning as soon as possible!
We also had another great day of tidying up and organising. Whilst sorting out what we wanted to keep Charlie bravely tried out some of the chairs to see if they were still safe to use... They weren't! Needless to say we all rushed to help him out before taking photos of him. With the poles all painted over the summer holidays we decided it was time for a show. We held a clear round jumping 'teaching show'. This allowed riders to have instruction over the fences whilst jumping. There were several different heights for the ponies from didi to large. Everyone had a great time but they are still keen to have a go next time!
The jumping clinic was a great success and the two different classes allowed everyone to improve on their jumping skills. The horses are all improving as they become more able to jump combinations of fences and the riders are becoming more confident. Photos will follow!
The first of our clinics being run by Anne is the pole work clinic. This was great fun and there were two separate clinics being run. Both of them were great fun and everyone learned a lot. Thanks Anne!
Summer is here and with the start of the holidays we are all painting poles ready for the showing season. Hard work but with very pretty results!
We had a great day at the Kings Heath Show on the May Bank holiday. The weather was great and we took Mini, Freddy, Rosa and Bobby. The ponies were great and there were lots of rosettes. Photos and more details will follow as soon as I have the photos sent to me by the riders! (I hope to have some videos too!)
The spring show in the Easter holidays was a great time for everyone involved. The standard of riding and in-hand showing was excellent and as a result we hope to be holding more shows in the near future!
